Hosting Events and Receptions

The Yarmouth County Historical Society has been hosting special events for many years, with a staff of dedicated volunteers who perform the "leg work" to ensure that your event is worthwhile, enjoyable and memorable.

The Education Wing (upstairs room) is the most popular space for functions of all types, and measures 30' x 30'. It can seat 55 comfortably, or allow about 75 for a stand-up reception. Whether a meeting, luncheon, breakfast, anniversary, achievement or birthday party, or even a small wedding reception, the Yarmouth County Museum's Education Wing might be perfect for your special event. For meetings, we have a full sound system and screen for laptop presentations, and tables and chairs can be arranged in classroom or theatre-style.

Contact or call the Director for room rental rates and to discuss alternate activities (photo shoots, children's parties, smaller board room usage, or the usage of the full Museum for a wedding ceremony and reception, etc.). A discount on rentals is available for certified not-for-profit organizations.

Events that are politically motivated (except for press conferences), religious or otherwise controversial in nature, will not be permitted under the Policies and Procedures of the Yarmouth County Historical Society.
